We who have failed to live our Baptismal Divine Life, either through venial sin or perhaps unfortunately through mortal sin, should have bathed ourselves in the "second
Baptism" of Penance in the Sacrament of Divine Mercy, Confession. Easter is the pre-eminent day of Divine Mercy. However, Jesus invites us to remember and share His Divine Mercy on the Sunday after Easter. Through Saint Faustina Kowalska, Jesus
promised remission of all sin and temporal punishment in Purgatory due to sin to all who go to confession and receive Holy Communion on Divine Mercy Sunday. Jesus requested that the image of the Divine Mercy by honored as a reminder of His infinity
mercy and His desire to save all. He also asked that the Sunday after Easter, when the Gospel account of the evening of the Resurrection when Jesus gave the power to absolve from sin to His Apostles is read, be a Sunday celebrating His infinite Divine
Mercy.
