"Prayer is the best preparation for Holy Communion. Prayer is the raising of the mind to God. When we pray, we go to meet Christ Who is coming to us. If our Creator and Savior comes from heaven with such great love, it is only fitting that we should go to meet Him. And this is what we do when we spend some time in prayer." - St. Bernadine of Siena

PRAYER TO OUR LADY OF BELLOWS FALLS
GIFT OF FORTITUDE
O Blessed Mother, my Mother, I entrust myself anew to your Immaculate Heart.
Obtain for me the gift of fortitude, that I may have God's own strength to face with absolute confidence all of the events of this New Year.
Please obtain this gift and all the gifts of the Holy Spirit that my life may be a pleasing sacrifice to God the Father through the merits of His Son Jesus.
O Blessed Mother, my Mother, please grant me this grace for I ask it in Jesus' name. Amen

DID YOU KNOW…That Pentecost's other name, in Jewish tradition, is Feast of Weeks, a full season of seven weeks of thanksgiving that begins with Passover Sabbath. The theme of harvest and thanksgiving is celebrated during the prolonged festival, which evolved before the time of Christ. By the 3rd century, Christians observed a similar fifty-day festival of rejoicing. During these weeks, fasting and kneeling were forbidden because of the joyful experience of resurrection.
The weekdays between the Ascension and Pentecost, popularly called the Pentecost Novena, are a period of preparation for the outpouring of the Spirit.
